MECHANICAL TAPPETS

The mechanical tappet serves two primary functions in the engine cylinder head. First, the tappet transmits the movement of the cam to the valve. Second, each tappet is designed to securely hold a metal shim. Metal shims are produced in varying thickness allowing engine manufacturer to precisely set the clearance between the cam and the valve.

FEATURES

Current market demand for high output, low noise, and fuel-efficient engines continues to drive the development for innovative products that can meet such requirements. To meet this challenge, OOZX USA produces an aluminum tappet. The aluminum tappet offers reduced weight over steel tappets and is coated with a special surface treatment for high abrasion resistance.
